Our Manchester-based project provides practical and emotional support to families impacted by imprisonment. During the pandemic, when prison visits were suspended during the national lockdown, Susan was prohibited from seeing her son. She was nervous about technology and had never used a smartphone before, so the project managed to secure her a phone she was comfortable using. Staff then spent time teaching her how to use the phone until she felt confident operating it on her own.

Susan says: “I am looking forward to joining online support events and having a video call with my son.”
