Pierre’s Saint

Servant of God Elizabeth de France, sister to the martyred King Louis Xvi. She was pious and practiced the spiritual and temporal mercies. She could have fled the revolutionaries but stayed to defend the Catholic Church and her people. As her head rolled there was report of the odour of roses.

Steadfast to the last even at the guillotine rebuking those around her with her last words saying, “Courage. Have faith in God.”
