The Friars, Aylesford is essentially a tranquil place of peace, prayer and worship and welcomes all regardless of their faith or religion. The first Prior, Fr Malachy Lynch, wished the place to be an “Open Door” and the present resident Carmelites work to maintain this.
The Friars is visited by many pilgrims and visitors each year. These often include youth groups; the sick and elderly and those with special needs as well as those suffering with mental health problems.
The Friars is also a place steeped in history and has some of the finest religious modern art to be seen in this country. The day to day costs and maintenance of this beautiful place is very high and The Friars is dependent upon the generosity of its kind benefactors.
If you are able to make a gift in your Will or a donation however small you will be helping to keep this important work and beautiful place alive for generations to come. All friends and benefactors of The Friars are remembered daily in the Community’s prayers. Thank you for your support
