Philanthropy and concern for others is at the very heart of the Stonyhurst mission. Following the exceptional generosity of the Weld family who gave our school its home in 1794, the story of Stonyhurst has been one of unwavering support by successive generations, ensuring that what they were privileged to experience was passed on.

A gift in your will is your opportunity to make a lasting contribution to Stonyhurst for generations to come.

We ask that those leaving a legacy to Stonyhurst consider whether your legacy should be unrestricted and used as required to update pupil facilities or whether it is to be used for a dedicated purpose; this could include a specific facility of your choice, such as sports, music or the library, maintain the Stonyhurst Museum & Archives or the provision of bursaries.

For those who wish to leave a legacy, we offer membership of the Thomas Weld Society. An annual Service of Thanksgiving and dinner are held at the College and each legacy donor receives a Thomas Weld Society lapel pin and regular updates.

“Through this legacy support we are getting as close as is practical to the Jesuit Charism on which we base all that we do” The late Peter Anwyl, Former Headmaster of Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall.
