Daughters of Charity Services is a family of Vincentian charities responding practically to present and emerging poverties across Great Britain. Together we stand in solidarity with the most vulnerable people in our society and work to challenge structural injustices.
From operating food banks to befriending vulnerable and elderly citizens, the services provided by our front-line projects are highly diverse, but all share a common commitment to serve people who are experiencing hardship and ensure the voices of those experiencing poverty are heard.
Each of our charities were established by the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul, a worldwide network of Catholic women founded by St Vincent de Paul, who for centuries have dedicated their lives serving those living in poverty. In building on the legacy of the Daughters, we continuously seek out the greatest poverties across society and put ourselves at the service of those most vulnerable.
Drawing inspiration from our Christian roots and our Vincentian heritage, our Vincentian values are at the heart of everything we do:
- Serving people who are experiencing the effects of poverty
- Respecting each person’s dignity
- Being compassionate and kind
- Enabling choice and change
- Acting in solidarity for justice
